Family and Individual mode, explained honestly
Family mode brings the whole household's entries together in one shared view. Individual mode shows just your own entries — a personal filter for decluttering your own view, not a privacy boundary.
Entries you add in Individual mode are visible to your family too. We built it this way deliberately: money conversations happen because everyone can already see the same picture, not despite it. If you're weighing Lekkafy against an app that promises to "keep spending private" between household members, we want to be upfront that's not how Lekkafy works.
Any family member can edit or delete Family-mode entries. Individual-mode entries stay editable only by the person who added them. Full detail in our Terms of Service.
What we never ask for
No bank credentials
No login, no password, no open banking link — ever.
No sort codes or card numbers
We don't request them, and our AI extraction has no field to save them even if they appear on a scanned document.
No third-party aggregators
Lekkafy doesn't route your data through an open banking provider at all.
No selling your data
We don't sell your data to advertisers or third parties.
Where your data lives
Your account and financial data is stored on infrastructure in the EU (Ireland). AI-assisted features (receipt scanning, statement parsing, Ask Lekka) send the relevant data to Google's Gemini API, which may process it outside the EU/UK under appropriate safeguards.

Questions people actually ask
Do I have to connect my bank to use Lekkafy?+
No. Lekkafy doesn't use open banking or request your bank credentials. You add spending through Quick Log, receipt scanning, PDF or CSV statement import, or manual entry.
Can my family see entries I add in Individual mode?+
Yes. Entries added in Individual mode can be seen by the whole family. Individual mode is a personal filtered view of your own entries — it is not a privacy setting or a way to hide entries from your household.
Do you ever ask for my bank details or card numbers?+
No. Lekkafy never asks for or stores bank credentials, account numbers, or card numbers. If a scanned receipt or imported statement happens to show a sort code or masked card number, our AI extraction only returns transaction data — date, merchant, amount, category — so that information is never saved.
Who can edit or delete entries in a family?+
Any family member can edit or delete entries recorded in Family mode. Entries recorded in Individual mode can only be edited or deleted by the person who recorded them.
What happens to my data if I delete my account?+
Your personal data is permanently erased, with backups purged within 30 days. If you're a family admin, deleting your account also deletes the entire family's shared expenses and budgets — see our Terms of Service for the full breakdown before you do this.
